Surface Palpation - Elbow, Wrist, and Hand - Muscles
Brachioradialis Muscle and Tendon
Standing, sitting or lying supine

Lateral to the patient.

May I touch your forearm? ( or point to the demonstrated area ). Please bend your elbow with your thumb pointing up (or demonstrate). Now hold in this position while I push on your forearm.
With the patient relaxed, place the fingers on the lateral forearm. Guide the patient to flex the elbow in a neutral position to radioulnar pronation and supination. Provide gradually increasing resistance by having the patient ìholdî while you produce a push on the forearm in the direction of elbow extension. Move the fingers distally to follow the brachioradialis tendon and provide the same resistance.
