Identify and clean the muscles of the femoral triangle. (G 6.19A;N 479;Gl 31.11)
- Identify and clean (anterior surface) the adductor longus and pectineus muscles. These muscles are often difficult to separate.
- Identify and clean (anterior surface) the iliopsoas muscle deep to the femoral artery and nerve.
Important Relationships
- Within the femoral triangle, the iliopsoas muscle is positioned directly posterior (deep) to the femoral nerve, artery and vein.
- At the level of the femoral triangle, the pectineus muscle is positioned directly posterior (deep) to the femoral nerve, artery and vein.
