On both sides of the cadaver, identify the external oblique muscle, its aponeurosis, the inguinal ligament and the structures associated with the superficial aspect of the inguinal canal. (G 4.8;N 245;Gl 13.4A)
- Identify the external oblique, its aponeurosis and the inguinal ligament.
- Identify the spermatic cord (or round ligament) and the superficial inguinal ring.
- Identify the medial and lateral crura, and intercrural fibers of the superfical inguinal ring.
- Identify the ilioinguinal nerve emerging from the superficial inguinal ring adjacent to the spermatic cord (or round ligament). (G 4.15;N 253;Gl 16.37A)
