Identify the muscles and erectile tissues of the perineum.
- Identify the clitoris and the bulbospongiosus and ischiocavernosus muscles. (G 5.60;N 355 and 395;Gl 21.27)
- Identify the bulb of the vestibule on the side of the cadaver without the bulbospongiosus muscle. (G 5.61;N 356;Gl 21.27)
- Identify the crus of the clitoris. (G 5.61;N 356;Gl 21.27) Follow the crus of the clitoris in the superior-anterior direction and identify the body and glans of the clitoris. Attempt to identify the dorsal nerve, dorsal artery and deep dorsal vein of the clitoris.
- Identify the perineal body (central tendon) intermediate between the vaginal orifice and the anus. (G 5.62;N 354;Gl 22.20B)
Important Relationships
- The bulbospongiosus muscle is positioned directly superficial (lateral) to the bulb of the vestibule.
- The ischiocavernosus muscle is positioned directly superficial to the crus of the clitoris.
