Identify and remove the right and left lungs. (G 3.24;N 195;Gl 10.7)

  1. Identify the root of the lung (the collection of structures entering or exiting the lung surrounded by pleura). Note the fold of pleura, the pulmonary ligament, extending inferior from the root of the lung.
  2. Identify the phrenic nerve passing anterior to the root of the lung.
