Identify and clean the muscles of the anterior compartment of the arm. (G 2.37;N 417;Gl 25.18) Do not dissect the neurovascular bundle at this time. (G 2.39A;N 419;Gl 28.35)
- Make sure the pectoralis major muscle is reflected toward its distal attachment.
- Open the brachial fascia to expose the muscles of the anterior compartment of the arm. (G 2.13;N 417;Gl 28.31B)
- Identify and clean the coracobrachialis muscle.
- Identify and clean the short and long heads of the biceps brachii muscle. Do not trace the proximal tendon of the long head into the shoulder joint.
- Blunt dissect under the distal aspect of the biceps brachii muscle to expose the brachialis muscle.
