Identify, clean and reflect the temporalis muscle. (G 7.41B;N 54; Gl 32.11)

  1. (ON BOTH SIDES) Remove the temporalis fascia from the temporalis muscle.
  2. (ON BOTH SIDES) Use the electric saw to cut (cut 3) the coronoid process even with the inferior limit of the mandibular notch.
  3. (ON BOTH SIDES) Use blunt dissection along the deep surface of the temporalis muscle to reflect the muscle and attached coronoid process in the superior direction.
  4. (ON BOTH SIDES) Identify the deep temporal nerves and arteries entering the deep surface of the temporalis muscle. (G 7.42A and B;N 39; Gl 34.24)
