Identify the paranasal sinuses on the opposite side of the head ( the side without the nasal septum).

  1. Identify the frontal and sphenoidal sinuses (G 7.61;N 36;Gl 36.2) and some of the ethmoidal air cells. (G 7.63A;N 49) Identify the maxillary sinus in the lateral wall of the nasal cavity. (G 7.64A;N 49;Gl 36.5) Attempt to identify the opening of the nasolacrimal duct.
Important Relationships
  • The ethmoidal air cells are positioned directly medial to the orbit.
  • The maxillary sinus is positioned inferior to the orbit, superior to the upper teeth, and lateral to the nasal cavity (inferior meatus).
