Identify the paranasal sinuses on the opposite side of the head (without the nasal septum).
- Identify the frontal and sphenoidal sinuses. (G 7.61;N 36;Gl 36.2)
- Attempt to identify the opening of the nasolacrimal duct. Identify some of the ethmoidal air cells (G 7.63A;N 49) and the maxillary sinus. (G 7.64A;N 49;Gl 36.5)
Important Relationships
- The ethmoidal air cells are positioned directly medial to the orbit.
- The maxillary sinus is positioned inferior to the orbit, superior to the upper teeth, and lateral to the nasal cavity (inferior meatus).
