Identify and clean the muscles of the anterior compartment of the arm. (G 6.33;N 419;Gl 21.20) Do not dissect the neurovascular bundle at this time. (G 6.35A;N 421;Gl 24.34)
- Make sure the pectoralis major muscle is reflected toward its distal attachment.
- Open the brachial fascia to expose the muscles of the anterior compartment of the arm. (G 6.12;N 419)
- Identify and clean the coracobrachialis muscle.
- Identify and clean the short and long heads of the biceps brachii muscle. Do not trace the proximal tendon of the long head into the shoulder joint.
- Blunt dissect under the distal aspect of the biceps brachii muscle to expose the brachialis muscle.
