Identify and clean the muscles of the anterior compartment of the arm. (G 6.33;N 419;Gl 21.20) Do not dissect the neurovascular bundle at this time. (G 6.35A;N 421;Gl 24.34)

  1. Make sure the pectoralis major muscle is reflected toward its distal attachment.
  2. Open the brachial fascia to expose the muscles of the anterior compartment of the arm. (G 6.12;N 419)
  3. Identify and clean the coracobrachialis muscle.
  4. Identify and clean the short and long heads of the biceps brachii muscle. Do not trace the proximal tendon of the long head into the shoulder joint.
  5. Blunt dissect under the distal aspect of the biceps brachii muscle to expose the brachialis muscle.
