Identify the cephalic vein, and pectoralis minor muscle. (G 6.18 and 6.24;N 416;Gl 24.34)

  1. Reflect the pectoralis major muscle and identify the pectoralis minor muscle attaching to ribs 3-5 and the coracoid process.
  2. Identify and trace the cephalic vein (it passes superficial to the superior aspect of the pectoralis minor muscle) to where it empties into the axillary vein.
Important Relationship

The pectoralis minor muscle is positioned posterior (deep) to the pectoralis major muscle.
