Review the trapezius muscle (G 6.29;N 171;Gl 21.28) from the first dissection exercise.
- Reflect the trapezius and identify the accessory nerve coursing along its deep surface. (G 4.31;N 171;Gl 24.29)
- Identify the superficial branch of the transverse cervical artery entering the trapezius muscle.
Important Relationship
- The trapezius muscle is positioned posterior (superficial) to the rhomboid muscle.
- The accessory nerve is positioned directly anterior (deep) to the trapezius muscle.
- The superficial branch of the transverse cervical artery is positioned directly anterior (deep) to the trapezius muscle.
