Abdomen

  1. Anterior Abdominal Wall

Rotate to the posterior to see the anterior abdominal wall from a unique perspective. Note the relationships as the spermatic cord passes through the inguinal canal. Several of the thinner structures such as aponeurosis and fascia have not yet been optimized for display in version 6, but you can use the transverse cross-sections to clearly see these structures and follow their relationships.

  2. Foregut

Use the highlight tool to observe the structures of the foregut. Use the Anatomy icon > Index search > Diaphragm. Add the diaphragm to the 3D model. How do the structures of the foregut relate to the diaphragm? Where do the liver and pancrease drain into the small intestine? Find and highlight the ducts that drain the liver and pancreas.

  3. Foregut Blood Supply

What is the branch off the aorta that supplies the foregut? What are the branched names? Use the highlight tool to discover what arteries supply the foregut. Add the skeleton by opening the Anatomy icon > Systems > Axial skeleton. What vertebral level does this arterial suppy branch at?
