Surface Palpation - Elbow, Wrist, and Hand - Other Soft Tissues
Ulnar Nerve
Standing, sitting, lying supine or lying prone
Roll up sleeves to expose the distal medial elbow.
Anterior or posterior to the patient.

May I touch the inside of your elbow? ( or point to the demonstrated area ). Please bend your elbow and turn your palm up. Hold this position.
Guide the patient to bend the elbow and supinate. Support the forearm, so that the muscles relax. Gently roll your fingers across the fleshy mass on the medial proximal forearm just distal to the area between the medial epicondyle and olecranon process of the humerus.
This pressure may elicit a tingling sensation along the medial forearm and medial hand, the distribution of the ulnar nerve.
