Introduction - Overview - Identification - Summary - Clinical Case Study
Lateral Compartment of the Leg

The lateral compartment contains the most powerful evertors, the peroneus longus and brevis. These muscles pass posterior to (behind) the lateral malleolus facilitating plantar flexion as well as eversion. The lateral compartment is innervated by the superficial peroneal nerve and receives arterial blood from the peroneal artery.
