Identify, clean and reflect the temporalis muscle. (G 7.49B;N 48; Gl 38.12)

  1. (ON THE RIGHT SIDE ONLY) Remove the temporalis fascia from the temporalis muscle.
  2. (ON THE RIGHT SIDE ONLY) Use the electric saw to cut (cut 3) the coronoid process even with the inferior limit of the mandibular notch.
  3. (ON THE RIGHT SIDE ONLY) Use blunt dissection along the deep surface of the temporalis muscle to reflect the muscle and attached coronoid process in the superior direction.
  4. (ON THE RIGHT SIDE ONLY) Identify the deep temporal nerves and arteries entering the deep surface of the temporalis muscle. (G 7.50A;N 51; Gl 40.25)
