Expose the obturator externus muscle. (G 6.36A;N 479 and 488;Gl 31.22)

  1. On one side only, cut the proximal attachments of the pectineus and adductor brevis muscles. Reflect these muscles in the inferior direction.
  2. Identify and clean the obturator externus muscle. Note the anterior and posterior branches of the obturator nerve traversing this muscle.
