Expose the obturator externus muscle. (G 6.36A;N 479 and 488;Gl 31.22)
- On one side only, cut the proximal attachments of the pectineus and adductor brevis muscles. Reflect these muscles in the inferior direction.
- Identify and clean the obturator externus muscle. Note the anterior and posterior branches of the obturator nerve traversing this muscle.
