Clean and identify the muscles of the first layer of the foot. (G 6.74C;N 520;Gl 33.16A)
- Start cleaning (blunt dissection) at the level of the metatarsal-phalangeal joints. Use the scissor technique to clean the tendons of the abductor hallucis, flexor digitorum brevis and abductor digiti minimi muscles and any plantar digital nerves and arteries.
- Work from distal to proximal removing the plantar aponeurosis as you clean the tendons, nerves and arteries.
- Identify the three muscles ( abductor hallucis, flexor digitorum brevis and abductor digiti minimi).
