Identify the great saphenous vein, superficial inguinal lymph nodes, and lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. (G 6.14A;N 470;Gl 34.26)

  1. Identify the great saphenous vein within the superficial fascia.
  2. Attempt to identify the superficial inguinal lymph nodes clustered around the great saphenous vein at the saphenous opening (where the vein passes through the deep fascia).
  3. Identify the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve approximately 3 cm medial to the anterior superior iliac spine at the inguinal ligament.
