Identify the sartorius and quadriceps femoris muscles. (G 6.21A;N 479;Gl 31.11)

1. Reflect any remaining fascia lata to expose the sartorius muscle. The lateral femoral cutaneous nerve passes anterior to the sartorius muscle.
2. Identify the rectus femoris muscle.
3. Reflect the rectus femoris muscle in the superior direction and identify the vastus lateralis, vastus intermedius and vastus medialis muscles. (G 6.21B;N 479;Gl 31.11)
