    1. Femoral sheath
      details - the distal continuation of the iliacus fascia and transversalis fascia inferior to the inguinal ligament surrounding the femoral artery, vein and canal
    2. Fascia lata
      1. Iliotibial tract
        details - extends from the tensor fascia lata and gluteus maximus muscles to the proximal lateral tibia
      2. Lateral intermuscular septum
        details - attaches to the linea aspera and separates the anterior and posterior compartments of the thigh
      3. Medial intermuscular septum
        details - attaches to the linea aspera and separates the anterior and medial compartments of the thigh
    3. Crural fascia
      1. Anterior crural intermuscular septum
        details - attaches to the anterior fibular border and separates the anterior and lateral compartments of the leg
      2. Posterior crural intermuscular septum
        details - attaches to the posterior fibular border and separates the lateral and posterior compartments of the leg
      3. Deep transverse fascia of the leg
        details - separates the superficial and deep posterior compartment muscles
    4. Talocrural fascia
      1. Superior extensor retinaculum
        details - extends from the distal tibia to distal fibula
      2. Inferior extensor retinaculum
        details - extends from the calcaneus to the navicular and medial malleolus
      3. Superior peroneal retinaculum
        details - extends from the lateral malleolus to the calcaneus
      4. Inferior peroneal retinaculum
        details - extends from the inferior extensor retinaculum to the calcaneus
