Trace and identify a single (one lung) segmental bronchus, a segmental branch of the pulmonary artery and an intersegmental branch of the pulmonary vein.

  1. Start at the hilum of the lung. Use the scissor technique to blunt dissect along the bronchial tree and the associated pulmonary artery to the level of a segmental bronchus and segmental branch of the pulmonary artery. (G 3.37;N 200 and 202;Gl 10.21C) Discard lung tissue as you trace the bronchus and artery.
  2. Start at the hilum of the lung and trace a pulmonary vein to the level of an intersegmental vein. Verify that the pulmonary vein does not travel with a segmental bronchus and pulmonary artery.
