Identify the surface features of the lungs. (G 3.30 and 3.31;N 195 and 196;Gl 10.7)

  1. Identify the superior, inferior and middle lobes, and oblique and horizontal fissures of the right lung.
  2. Identify the main bronchus, pulmonary arteries and pulmonary veins at the hilus of the right lung (G 3.32;N 196;Gl 10.7)
  3. You may be able to locate impressions (embalming artifacts) for the superior vena cava, arch of the azygos vein and esophagus on the medial surface of the right lung.
  4. Identify the superior and inferior lobes, and the oblique fissure of the left lung.
  5. Identify the main bronchus, pulmonary artery and pulmonary veins at the hilus of the left lung. (G 3.33;N 196;Gl 10.7)
  6. You may be able to locate the groove (embalming artifact) for the arch of the aorta, descending aorta and esophagus on the right lung.
