Identify structures deep to the extensor carpi radialis longus and brevis muscles and the extensor digitorum muscle. (G 2.84B;N 431;Gl 26.19B)
- Identify the supinator muscle deep to the extensor carpi radialis longus and brevis, and extensor digitorum muscles.
- Attempt to identify a nerve emerging from the supinator muscle. This is the posterior interosseous branch of the radial nerve ( deep branch, see below).
Important Relationship
- The deep branch of the radial nerve passes deep to the supinator muscle.
