Anterior Approach to Shoulder Joint
- Reflect the pectoralis major muscle laterally and identify the tendons of the subscapularis and long head of the biceps brachii muscles. (G 2.46A and 2.27;N 408 and 413;Gl 25.19A and 25.19C)
- Identify the coracoacromial, coracoclavicular and glenohumeral ligaments (G 2.44A and 2.46A;N 408;Gl 25.13A)
Important Relationships

- The long head of the biceps brachii (tendon) passes superior to the shoulder joint.
- The glenohumeral ligaments are positioned directly anterior to the shoulder joint.
