Tibialis Anterior (most superficial)
- Bony Attachments:
- 1. Lateral condyle and superior half of lateral surface of tibia and interosseous membrane
- 2. Medial cuneiform and base of 1st metatarsal
- Innervation: Deep peroneal nerve (L4 & L5)
- Arterial Supply: Anterior tibial artery
- Action: Dorsiflexes ankle, inverts foot

Extensor Hallucis Longus (beneath tibialis anterior and medial to extensor digitorum)
- Bony Attachments:
- 1. Middle part of anterior surface of fibula and interosseous membrane
- 2. Dorsal aspect of base of distal phalanx of great toe by way of extensor sheath
- Innervation: Deep peroneal nerve (L5 & S1)
- Arterial Supply: Anterior tibial artery
- Action: Extend great toe and dorsiflex foot

Extensor Digitorum Longus (most lateral of the group)
- Bony Attachments:
- 1. Lateral condyle of tibia and superior three fourths of medial surface of the fibula and interosseous membrane
- 2. Extensor expansion sheath of dorsal side of toes 2-5 (middle and distal phalanges)
- Innervation: Deep peroneal nerve (L5 & S1)
- Arterial Supply: Anterior tibial artery
- Action: Extends lateral 4 toes and dorsiflexes foot

Peroneus Tertius (muscle belly most inferior of anterior compartment group)
- Bony Attachments:
- 1. Inferior fibula and interosseous membrane
- 2. Dorsum of the base of the 5th metatarsal
- Innervation: Deep peroneal nerve (L5 & S1)
- Arterial Supply: Anterior tibial artery
- Action: Dorsiflexes the foot and assists in eversion of the foot
Peroneal = Fibular - Can write either or both
