  • Bony Attachments:
    • 1: Long head: infraglenoid tubercle of the scapula;
          Lateral head: posterolateral humerus & lateral intermuscular septum;
          Medial head: posteromedial surface of the inferior humerus.
    • 2: Olecranon process of the ulna.
  • Innervation: Radial nerve.
  • Arterial Supply: Deep brachial (profunda brachii) a.
  • Action: Extends the forearm; the long head extends and adducts arm.
• Anconeus
  • Bony Attachments:
    • 1: Lateral epicondyle of the humerus.
    • 2: Lateral side of the olecranon and the upper one-fourth of the ulna.
  • Innervation: Nerve to anconeus, from the radial nerve.
  • Arterial Supply: Interosseous a. & recurrent a.
  • Action: Extends the forearm.
