Lateral head: posterolateral humerus & lateral intermuscular septum;
Medial head: posteromedial surface of the inferior humerus.
- 2: Olecranon process of the ulna.
- Innervation: Radial nerve.
- Arterial Supply: Deep brachial (profunda brachii) a.
- Action: Extends the forearm; the long head extends and adducts arm.

- 1: Lateral epicondyle of the humerus.
- 2: Lateral side of the olecranon and the upper one-fourth of the ulna.
- Innervation: Nerve to anconeus, from the radial nerve.
- Arterial Supply: Interosseous a. & recurrent a.
- Action: Extends the forearm.
