Calcaneal Tendon (Achilles Tendon)
Palpate tendons at the anatomical location with the patient positioned to maximally expose the structure. Tendons are firm and fibrous and can be traced to muscle on one end and bone on the other end. They become tense when stretched.
Fascia is connective tissue that in some cases is palpable. Fascia connects soft tissues and bones at various locations. Fascia is easier to palpate if stretched.
