Surface Palpation - Knee and Leg - Bones
Tibial Tuberosity (Tubercle)
Sitting, standing, or lying supine
Ask the patient to wear shorts to allow direct palpation on the skin.
Anterior to the patient.
 
Please sit (or other position). May I touch the front of your knee? (or demonstrate).
Guide the patient to be in the position you want. If given permission, place your fingers on the large bony prominence on the proximoanterior tibia.
VH - Tibial tuberosity or tubercle ñ add the patellar ligament and quadriceps on one side
