Identify the surface features of the cerebrum (refer to the Lateral Brain interactive photographs).

  1. Identify and carefully remove the arachnoid mater from the surface of the cerebrum.
  2. Identify the precentral gyrus, central sulcus, postcentral gyrus, lateral sulcus (fissure), and frontal, parietal, occipital and temporal lobes on the lateral side of the cerebrum. (G 7.97;N 106;Gl 47.5)
  3. Identify the anterior and middle cerebral arteries on the medial aspect of the cerebrum. (G 7.32;N 143;Gl 48.6) Trace the middle cerebral artery to the lateral sulcus.
