- Bony attachments:
- 1. Anterior inferior iliac spine & ilium (superior to acetabulum)
- 2. Base of patella and by the patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
- Innervation: Femoral nerve (L2, L3, & L4)
- Arterial supply: Femoral artery
- Action: Extends lower leg & flex thigh

Vastus Lateralis
- Bony attachments:
- 1. Lateral lip of linea aspera and lateral gluteal tuberiosity
- 2. Base of patella by the patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
- Innervation: Femoral nerve (L2, L3, & L4)
- Arterial supply: Femoral artery
- Action: Extends lower leg

Vastus Intermedius
- Bony attachments:
- 1. Anterior shaft of femur
- 2. Base of patella by the patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
- Innervation: Femoral nerve (L2, L3, & L4)
- Arterial supply: Femoral artery
- Action: Extends lower leg

Vastus Medialis
- Bony attachments:
- 1. Linea aspera and intertrochanteric line
- 2. Base of patella by the patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
- Innervation: Femoral nerve (L2, L3, &L4)
- Arterial supply: Femoral artery
- Action: Extends lower leg

Articularis Genu
- Bony attachments:
- 1. Anterior inferior aspect of femur (deep to quadriceps)
- 2. Anterior part of synovial capsule of the knee joint
- Innervation: Femoral nerve (L2, L3, & L4)
- Arterial supply: Femoral artery
- Action: Tightens the anterior aspect of synovial capsule (prevents capsule from being pinched)
